It is an easy recipe for perfect homemade patties. If you find the meat mixture too mushy, you can add more bread crumbs until it forms patties that hold their shape. Don’t forget to check Hamburger Buns and Fresh Homemade Lemonade.
- 500g good-quality beef mince
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion , grated
- 2 clove garlic, crushed
- 4 tbsp dry bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp barbecue sauce (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, onion, bread crumbs, barbecue sauce, garlic, salt and pepper until well blended.
Divide mixture into 8 equal portions. Lightly wet your hands. Carefully roll the mixture into balls.
Set in the palm of your hand and gently squeeze down to flatten into patties about 3cm thick.
Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high, then grill the burgers for 10 minutes, turning the burgers occasionally to ensure they are fully cooked through.
Place a burger inside a bun, then top with your choice of accompaniment.
