Homemade Hamburger Buns are easy to make and will take your burgers over the top! Hamburger buns, specifically puffy and soft. These simple buns are perfect for burgers, but also fine for any kind of sandwich.
Ingredients
- 2 cups lukewarm water
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg yolk, beaten (for topping)
- sesame seeds (optional)
Method
Step 1
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine the water, yeast and sugar.
Step 2
Slowly add in the salt and flour at a time until the dough is tacky, but doesn't stick to your hands. The dough should be nice and smooth.
Step 3
Continue kneading (or mixing) for 6 to 8 minutes.
Step 4
Transfer to a lightly greased large mixing bowl and let rise until double in size, about 1,5 to 2 hours.
Step 5
Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
Step 6
Divide dough into 8 equal pieces. Shape into smooth balls, and place on a greased baking sheet.
Step 7
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Step 8
Brush the buns with the egg and garnish with sesame seeds.
Step 9
Bake the buns in a preheated 375°F oven for 15 to 18 minutes, until golden. Remove and let them cool. Enjoy!
