Meringue (beze) is the most popular dessert, especially for kids. You can prepare them in various colour. You can add a few drops of food colouring if you want. Make perfect meringues every time, with this easy basic meringue recipe.
- 3 egg whites
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 drops lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
Use a dry and clean mixer and pot. Preheat oven to 225 degrees F or 110 C.
The eggs should be at room temperature. Using an electric mixer, whisk egg whites until they form solid white foam.
Add all the remaining ingredients and continue whisking until stiff.
Preferably use non-stick baking paper. You can use two spoons to get the classic shape or you can use a pastry bag.
Bake about 1 hour until firm. Turn off the oven, and let the cookies dry on the heat for 1 more hour. Enjoy!
