Bread is one of our basic nutritional needs. Breads with thousands of varieties in the bakery can actually be made at home.

In quarantine days, people focused on making bread at home. If you are getting bored of making common bread, I will give you an alternative recipe. These breads that look very good in shape are also suitable for making sandwiches. You can prepare delicious sandwiches with these breads. You can easily make your flower bread. Even if you’ve never made homemade bread or worked with yeast before, this homemade crusty artisan bread is for you.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk
  • 1 tbsp instant dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4-5 cups flour

Method

Step 1

Place the lukewarm water, milk, sugar and the yeast into a bowl.

Step 2

Stir well to dissolve the sugar and the yeast. Add the salt, olive oil and flour; knead until smooth and elastic, 8-10 minutes.

Step 3

The more you knead the better your bread will be.

Step 4

Cover the dough and let it rise at room temperature for about 2 hours until doubled in size.

Step 5

Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide dough in half.

Step 6

Cut the dough into 7 pieces. Make 7 balls using your palms. Grease a round Pyrex or baking dish (20-30 cm) and place one ball in the middle and the other 6 around it leaving some room.

Step 7

And do the same with the other half of the dough, so you will bake 2 flower breads. Leave it for 15 minutes to rise.

Step 8

Brush the surface of the bread with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Step 9

Preheat the oven to 425F (220C). Place the bread on the middle rack. Bake for 25-30 minutes, till it becomes golden brown.
